How to Reset the ABS Method on a 1999 Windstar 1Shift the Windstar's transmission into park and turn the ignition off. Set the parking brake and rotate the ignition back to the "on" position, but do not start off the engine.
2Connect the scan tool's information cable to the vehicle's 16-pin diagnostic information port underneath the dashboard on the driver's side. Power on the scan tool and permit it to boot up.3Choose " automotive diagnostic tools;ABS" from the scan tool's primary menu. Pick "codes automotive diagnostic tool," then pick "clear all existing and stored DTCs."
DTC is an acronym for Diagnostic Difficulty Code.4Watch the display on the scan tool and wait for it to indicate that the codes are cleared. Unplug the scan tool from the car and begin the engine.5Verify that the ABS light is not illuminated. The ABS system is now reset.
